Fencing could be cheap way to make the geese leave. You will need to place a 3 foot fence around the lake or pond you want to protect. This could stop some geese from walking onto your lawn. They could obviously fly over but this would be another obstacle for them causing them to look for a better spot to hang out.

This might seem obvious, but make sure the geese aren’t being fed. One way to stop humans from feeding geese would be to put up a “Don Not Feed the Geese” sign. Also remember that the geese like to eat the new shoots of grass. This means letting your grass grow longer, could deter the geese.

Laser Harassment is another way to get rid of the birds but will need constant vigilance on you or your employee’s part. It is also a very expensive method because lasers cost so much. The laser guns can cost about $1,000. It would be my advice to wait and try the other methods in this book before trying laser harassment. Make sure not to look into the laser as it can cause blindness.
